Members were delighted to hear directly from David Higgins Network Rail’s Chief Executive at the September Forum and for the opportunity to discuss devolution, procurement and contract delivery issues directly with him.
At the forthcoming December 6th Forum Gil Howarth Chief Executive National Skills Academy for Rail engineering will speak and discuss how members needs for skilled staff may be addressed in future.
Steve Roberts from the Rail Safety and Standards Board will explain his approach to re-writing a simpler and more operationally focussed Rule Book and Mark Prescott from Network Rail will present their latest detailed proposals for the future safer use of road/rail vehicles, including the imposition of exclusion zones and the mandated use of a machine control communications system; all due for introduction early in 2012.
