At the May 18th Forum and Annual General Meeting members were told about the presentation made to Maintenance Territory Directors and their focus on the 7-Day railway. Future workloads, supplier assurance issues, the national rail skills academy were also discussed before Tony Saunders of Network Rail was welcomed and gave an update on their Maintenance re-organisation and its implications for members.
A new Board of RICA Directors was elected and Terry Everall of White Young Green who was standing down after a decade of service to the Association was thanked for his commitment and expertise.
The next Forum will be held on Tuesday 14th September when Network Rail's Steve Fink will be the rail safety speaker and it is anticipated that there will also be speakers from both Network rail and London Underground who will appraise members of their future contract spending plans.
